For sin 42, Jeremy forgot that the scene wasn't set in 1941. Kane acquired The Inquirer shortly after inheriting control of his fortune around 1888 (age 25, assuming birth in 1863), and soon after he bought the Daily Inquirer. At around 1890, NYC's population was 2.7 million, so rather than 0.24% circulation in 1941, it was actually four times higher.

Few people know that Orson Wells was totally taking the piss out of William Randolph Hearst in this film more than ever. In real life, Rosebud was Hearst's nickname for his mistress Marion Davies' clitoris. The all-time inside joke among those in-the-know and the Hollywood guests at San Simeon, became more hilarious that Wells had the actual balls to refer to it in this Hearst hit job film.

Imagine it's the 40s and this movie makes it popular to read out newspaper headlines, yelling to every bodies amusement. I could imagine that and that's how I imagine memes to have been in the 40s. That and dabbing on Nazis.

I will never understand people who bash this content. It isn't meant to be serious. It's sad that some people's entire lives revolve around watching movies; any sort of critique to their movies is taken as a personal attack. Like grow up, don't watch it if it bothers you so much, they aren't doing anything wrong, quit being butthurt and go outside. You aren't built for this world and this world isn't built for you. If you want a serious critique then go watch a serious critic.

Dear sir or madam, I'm writing to protest, in the strongest possible terms, the fact that your sin-based grading system completely ignored what is universally understood to be the single greatest piece of dialogue ever to be written for the dramatic arts. I refer, of course, to that most famous conversation between Misters Kane and Leland following Susan's operatic debut wherein Jed Leland has stalled while attempting to review her performance and Charles Foster has elected to finish the review himself and the two briefly converse. Charles Foster Kane: Hello, Jedediah. Jedediah Leland: Hello, Charlie. I didn't know we were speaking... Charles Foster Kane: Sure, we're speaking, Jedediah: you're fired. I believe, and I feel certain all right-thinking people will agree, that this chestnut was worth, at the very least, two sins off bringing the final tally to 91. I look forward to receiving your response to this complaint at your earliest convenience as I feel confident this was an oversight you will be extremely anxious to rectify. Yours, most sincerely, Christopher "That Guy" Henson Roanoke, VA Dictated but not read.
